Rawai is not a swimming beach, but there is plenty to do. Red flags mean no swimming. It is really important to respect the swimming flags. Rawai is not suitable for swimming. Most hotels in the area offer free shuttles to nearby swimming beaches. Swimmers should be extra cautious, especially at open beaches. Predictions by the Hydrographic Department, Royal Thai Navy (Ko Taphao Noi station); west coast beaches can differ by up to about half an hour. Rawai is popular with long-stay visitors and expats who prefer a quieter area away from the tourist beaches. Rawai has a wide choice of restaurants along the beachfront road. Mixxmall Rawayana appeared on the beachfront with a Starbucks, a Tops supermarket, and a rooftop terrace. Every year during the rainy season, the weeks alternate nicely between clear skies, cloudy days and a few rainy days, usually in the evening or at night. But there are bad luck weeks with lots of rain, non-stop for 3 to 5 days.
